First scenario

Last week, at a McMaster University workshop on PBL, 11 people met. They came from Philadelphia (USA), Leeuwarden (The Netherlands) and Basque Country (Spain). After an intense and fruitful working week, before saying goodbye to each other, they decided to create a blog to maintain active contact. They need to propose the issues to be considered in their blog.

  3. Hi to you all. It is great to have this blog available. We have already started a bit of a discussion today and in 2 weeks time we will have a more profound discussion on points like assessment, groundrules and how we maybe could blend the systems from Mcmaster and Maastricht to our benefit. Today seems to be harder than yesterday. It was a great experience and I kind of miss everyone.
    Greetings Liduina (Maria)

  4. Hi guys check this one out. I got it from a colleague and he has some humorous and good statements on education killing creativity.

  5. Hi all! Thanks to Alberto for setting this up. It is a new experience for me to blog in this way, so I will see if I can get it to work. 6. Hi all! I hope you returned home in time for good coffee with lunch! Today I had the opportunity to speak with the Occupational Therapists who were very excited to hear that we got to learn with Sue -- they much admire her publications. I am excited about our next midwifery faculty meeting to discuss implementing and refining from what we learned. I so enjoyed meeting all of you! Thank you Alberto for creating this space to continue the conversation and comraderie.

  7. Alberto I think there maybe a little gnome messing around the watches, I know you are having problems to arrange the time for Europe and Philadelphia and I understood you had already had it done, but if you have a look you will find Philadelphia has adopte Europe time.
Sorry a little more work for you.

  8. Isabel: Jajajajaja (or as we say in Holland: hahahaha); talking about feedback...

Great idea to post videos on this blog, Alberto!

I have had my first PBL sessions this week (I have three groups) and it went great. I recognize in myself that I am concentrating much more on the group process and leave quite some details for what they are. I was anxious in the beginning for having missed one week (which was the first week of this module!) however students were very understanding as well as intrigued by my PBL experiences in Canada. I'll keep you guys posted. All well in Philly and EspaƱa? Big hugs and take care, Jassir.

  9. Jassir- I wonder how you felt the learning went with you sitting back more than you had before? It may be too early to tell.
All well here, and it looks like we are back on Pennsylvania time!

  11. Hi Elizabeth (Sarah:) and all: sitting back was and is not always easy for me. I am learning to this day by day as I have realized how this (me getting involved) can affect the group process....
Question: anyone knows how to post pictures on the blog?
    Best wishes, Jassir.

  12. Hi everybody: Nice to meet you again, in this virtual environment. I've seen the link given by Liduina, and by chance, I watched a talk of Ken Robinson before going to McMaster. This is the link:
    http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html
As Liduina says, he have got a very good sense of humour and it's very funny to listen. Subtitles are avalaible in many languages (I need help to understand). Ted.com is my way to practice listening in english.
    Best regards
